July 2019

Besides all the animals we raise and care for at High Hope Farm, we also grow vegetables and fruits in a garden. This summer, thanks to plenty of rain and sun and available natural fertilizer, we have had a proverbial cornucopia of produce, from Louisiana green beans (they’re purple on the vine), to squash and lettuce, okra and tomatoes, blueberries and pears. We’ve had enough this year to cover nearly all our meals, for canning and freezing, and for sharing with guests and friends.
